FAQ

What Bayonne drivers and businesses ask a towing company before they book

Company-owned trucks, company drivers, a license and insurance behind them, $149 by phone or $129 online, miles quoted before dispatch, and one monthly invoice for terminals, carriers and shops.

How can I tell whether a towing company in Bayonne actually owns trucks?

Ask it three things: where the trucks are parked overnight, whose payroll the drivers are on, and whose name is printed on the receipt. Ours are parked in our Linden yard, the drivers are company employees, and the receipt says Towing Company Bayonne NJ with (908) 666-3168 underneath.

You are based in Linden. Why would a Bayonne customer call you?

Because the trip is about 25 minutes by the Turnpike and the Newark Bay Extension, and on most shifts a truck of ours is already in Jersey City or on the Extension. The dispatcher tells you the honest wait from the closest truck before you agree to anything.

What does your company charge for a tow inside Bayonne?

$149 to book by phone or $129 to book online, plus the miles to wherever you send the car, quoted on the call. A jump, a tire change, a lockout or a fuel delivery is one flat price. The pricing page has all of it.

Is your company licensed and insured, and can a business get proof of that?

Yes to both. We hold a New Jersey towing license and insurance on the vehicles we carry. A terminal, a property manager or a fleet that needs the paperwork before a truck comes on site can ask dispatch, and the office sends it.

Can a terminal on Constable Hook open an account with you?

Yes. Terminal operators, carriers and contractors along Hook Road and at Port Jersey can hold a rate sheet, a direct line and a single monthly invoice on net terms. Tell the dispatcher the company name and the gate your vehicles use, and the account is set up from there.

Do your drivers know how the port gates work?

They work Bayonne's port side regularly and follow whatever the gate requires, whether that is waiting for an escort, signing in or parking outside while your staff bring the vehicle forward. Tell us who will meet the truck and at which gate.

We are back from a cruise and the car in the Cape Liberty lot will not start. Who comes?

One of our drivers with a jump pack in the truck. A battery that sat a week often just needs a charge, which is one flat price, and if it will not hold he can tow the car to your shop at the normal fee plus miles without a second call.

Does your company handle tractors and tankers or only cars?

Both. Medium and heavy wreckers sit in the same yard as the rollbacks and are sent by the same dispatcher. For a loaded tanker or a trailer, tell us what it carries and the dispatcher plans the right truck before it leaves.

I own a shop on Broadway and my delivery van keeps breaking down. Can I run it through an account?

Yes. A Broadway store, a restaurant or a small delivery business can open an account like any fleet: one number to call, the same rates every time, and one invoice at the end of the month instead of a card at the curb.

Will your driver add charges once he sees the car?

Not to the fee. If the car is locked in park, has a wheel that will not turn or has sat in flood water, he may need dollies or a winch, and he prices that at the curb before touching it. You can decline and the job ends there.

My car broke down on the Turnpike Extension before Exit 14A. Can your company come to me?

On the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway the shoulder itself is served by the Turnpike Authority's authorized garages; book with us anyway, and once the authorized truck has the car off the highway we take it from the exit or the garage's lot to the shop or driveway you choose, at the same flat quoted price. Route 440, JFK Boulevard, Broadway and every street inside Bayonne are direct dispatch for our own trucks.

After a crash on Route 440, can I refuse the truck that shows up and call my own towing company?

You can ask for your own company, and it helps to say so early. Tell the officer our truck is coming and which body shop the car goes to. Our driver loads it on a rollback, photographs the damage for your adjuster, and delivers it straight to that shop.

Do you store cars in a lot anywhere in Bayonne?

No. We do not keep a lot anywhere, so every tow ends at a shop, dealer or home you name. That also means nobody can bill you a storage or release fee afterwards.

Can I get a tow from Bayonne across the Bayonne Bridge to Staten Island?

Yes. The bridge toll is included in the quote you hear on the call, and one company rollback takes the car across. The same goes for Brooklyn, the shore or another state as a longer run.

What does the receipt from your company show?

Our company name and phone number, the pickup and drop-off addresses, the booking fee, the miles and any extra work on separate lines, plus the photos on file. Insurers and roadside plans accept it for reimbursement because each item is listed.

Is booking online really cheaper than calling?

Yes. The online booking page sets the fee at $129 instead of $149. If you are on Route 440 or the Bridge approach, though, call (908) 666-3168; speed matters more than the saving there.

Do you charge more on Sundays or after midnight in Bayonne?

No. Our drivers cover nights and weekends as normal shifts, so the fee and the per-mile rate for a 2 a.m. call on a holiday match a weekday lunchtime call on Avenue C.

Can a Bayonne body shop or dealer schedule transfers with you?

Yes. Garages on Avenue E and Broadway and dealers along Route 440 book moves in advance on a direct line, get a time window, and pay once a month. Ask dispatch or use the contact page to set it up.

Do you move electric cars and motorcycles out of Bayonne garages?

Yes. Electric cars ride a rollback with all four wheels on the deck, and motorcycles are chocked and soft-strapped on a rollback too. Mention the garage clearance when you call so we send a truck that fits under it or plan to bring the vehicle out first.

Do I need a membership or a plan to use your company?

No. Call, hear the price, pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or cash. If a plan or policy covers towing, the receipt is written so you can claim it back.

Is your company hiring drivers who live near Bayonne?

Yes. We hire flatbed and wheel-lift drivers onto the payroll, contract owner-operators with their own trucks, and add roadside providers. Current openings are on the driver jobs page.
